New Venom Ongoing - New Creative Team

 
Marvel has announced that the next volume of Eddie Brock and his alien costume partner will be written by both Al Ewing and Ram V. Ram V is known for his indie work and graphic novels outside of Marvel, while Ewing is notable for his recent title The Immortal Hulk. And on art duties is Bryan Hitch (Ultimates, Fantastic Four)!

The Centaur Werewolf Symbiote Warrior

Marcus is a Centaur warrior who was bitten by a werewolf and then bound to an alien symbiote, culminating in him gaining their myriad of abilities. He became enlisted in the service of Dracula as his "Secret Weapon" and has been described as "a perfect soldier with no weaknesses" - although he is diabetic.

The short version of Venom's origin is that the Original Venom was created when Spider-Man brought back an alien symbiote from space and it bonded with Eddie Brock. The origin story has been altered over the years in differnet comic book series, cartoons, and the Spider-Man 3 movie. Over the years, the symbiote bonded with many other hosts (some in alternate Marvel universes) creating different versions of Venom. After the government seized the symbiote, they used it to create a Black Ops Venom.  Flash Thompson is allowed to use the symbiote for mission, but is not allowed to bond with it.

When Kulan Gath came back to Earth in the recent Spider-Man/Red Sonja mini series, he bonded with the Venom symbiote and called himself Kulan Venom. The symbiote's attempts to rebond with Eddie Brock distracted Kulan Venom long enough for Red Sonja to defeat him.

In the 'zombie' universe, Spider-man beats Venom fairly quickly. Since their are no living humans for the symbiote to feed off of, it is presumed dead. Zombie Venom appears in Marvel Zombies 5.

After Eddie Brock sells the symbiote for a million dollars, it bonds with Angelo Fortunato. The symbiote leaves Angelo and bonds with Mac Gargan (formally The Scorpion). Mac Gargan Venom is currently a member of The Thunderbolts. For additional information visit Marvel.com.

Venom (Angelo Fortunato)

Angelo Fortunato became Venom when his father purchased the symbiote from a dying Eddie Brock. Once bonded with Angelo, Venom II, hunted and found Spider-Man. Because of his inexperience, this new Venom had to run away from the fight. Disgusted with his cowardness, the Symbiote left Angelo in mid air, allowing him to fall to his death. It later bonded with Mac Gargan to create the third version of Venom.

During the events of the 'Run' story arc in the Venom series, the Venom clone surprised Wolverine and they bonded. The relationship is short lived, when a cell phone bomb implanted in Wolverine blows the symbiote off of him.

In Spider-Girl Universe, when Mayday Parker's father, Peter Parker, bonds with the Venom symbiote he becomes Spider-Venom. This occurs in Spider-Girl #5.

Venom 2099

Kron Stone, in the year 2099, half-brother to that era's Spider-Man, bonded with the symbiote to become Venom. The symbiote was described as having mutated over the years, and displayed new abilities in this timeline, including acidic blood and saliva. It was revealed that the symbiote bonded with Kron on a molecular level giving Kron an amorphous physiology that allowed his body to take on the properties of the symbiote itself.

Varient covers of these issues were printed under the Venom 2099 title.

She-Venom (Ann Weying)
Ann Weying is Eddie Brock's ex-wife. She was shot by Sin Eater in the Venom: Sinner Takes All story arc. To save her from the bullet wound, Ann had to temporarily bond with they symbiote. After She-Venom killed the men who had hurt her, Eddie had the symbiote rebond with him.
Ann needed saving again when police had inprisoned her in order to trap Venom. Eddie had the Symbiote go save her, create She-Venom again, and help her break out of prison. Ann has since committed suicide when she saw Spider-Man in his black costume, thinking it was Venom coming to get her.

After The Symbiote was rejected by Spider-Man, it found Eddie Brock and together they formed the original Venom. From his first appearance in 1988 until he auctioned off The Symbiote and was administered to a hospital in in 2005, Brock's Venom appeared in multiple self titled limited series as well as countless other marvel super hero titles.
