Venom #1 (2021) Cover Revealed

“When my editors at Marvel reached out about taking on Venom alongside Al Ewing and Bryan Hitch, I was not prepared for the kind of creative thrill it has been ever since,” Ram V said. “This story is going to expand and push the symbiote narrative and lore in even more unexpected and fantastic directions. It is also an utter thrill having the sort of call and response mechanic I’ve had with a writer like Al and an artist of Bryan’s caliber. Fans and new readers, strap in—you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

Check out Bryan Hitch’s main cover now and pick up VENOM #1 when it hits stands on October 13!

Venom: The End #1 First Look

"Written by Adam Warren with art by Chamba, this one-shot story presents the sickly symbiote as you've never seen it before. "VENOM: THE END might be the craziest story I've worked on in my time at Marvel—people have NO IDEA where this one is heading," says editor Jordan D. White. "When I reached out to Adam Warren to write this series, I knew he would bring huge ideas to this project…and he delivered a trillionfold. This story is massive." (SOURCE: Marvel.com)

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE News

The folks over at Bleeding Cool gave us a better look into what to expect from August's ABSOLUTE CARNAGE event:

From the Cates and Stegman interview:
"Will we see Rex Strickland from the beginning of your VENOM run again?"
"Yes."
"Since all symbiotes are descended from a god, does that make Venom a demi-god?"
"It does now."
"Will Norman Osborn ever make an appearance?"
"Yes."
"How many former hosts will show up in this event?"
"All of them."
"Will any symbiotes gain new hosts?"
"Yes. There is one character we are excited to unleash."

Bleeding Cool is also reporting that there will be 25 Carnage-ized Variants coming in July:

Finally, it looks like to keep up with this event we are going to have to purchase some non-symbiote issues:

And Marvel are going to be putting Carnage pages in the backs of ten different books similar to the Where’s Wolverine back ups from last year.

Will you be purchasing all of the main story, tie-ins, and variant covers?  Start saving now, this summer is going to be expensive, Venomaniacs!!

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE Announced

From Marvel.com:

In a video during today’s retailer panel at C2E2 in Chicago, acclaimed writer Donny Cates announced ABSOLUTE CARNAGE—Marvel’s epic summer event!
Beginning in Free Comic Book Day's SPIDER-MAN/VENOM #1 (out May 5), the blockbuster event starts in August (although fans will see the threads reaching as far back as AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #252, with connections to almost every Venom and Carnage story since) and re-teams Cates with VENOM's Ryan Stegman and colorist Frank Martin for the deadliest story in the Marvel Universe!
“Cletus Kasady is back, and he is deadlier than he’s ever been,” Cates teases in the video announcement. “ABSOLUTE CARNAGE encompasses every single character who has ever worn a symbiote and every symbiote that has ever been, going all the way back to when Peter found the black suit. Going from there to MAXIMUM CARNAGE to VENOMIZED to everything…everyone is a target.”

Are you excited?!?!? Sound off in the comments!

savage avengers 1

Venom is a Savage Avenger

From Newsarama:

Writer Gerry Duggan and artist Mike Deodato Jr. will launch a new ongoing series titled Savage Avengers this May - and the team's line-up features none other than Conan the Barbarian. Spinning out of Avengers: No Road Home, Savage Avengers will take a deadly line-up of heroes into the Savage Land alongside Conan, who is sent into the Marvel Universe by evil sorcerers while on a quest for a magical amulet.

“This is an unsanctioned team of heroes,” Duggan told Entertainment Weekly. “It has to be something that visually makes sense to you, and I think it does. Mike Deodato Jr. is illustrating this book in both worlds. We envisioned a threat, a magical green zone where the evil wizards of Conan’s world are trading spells with the Hand in Japan. Conan is on a very Conan-like mission; he’s heard a tale of an amulet so he’s chasing it, and the evil magic sorcerers are doing something that would be a Marvel Avengers problem. It feels like we have found some very fertile ground that is a Venn diagram between those two worlds.”

The line-up of the Savage Avengers is rounded out by Wolverine, Venom, Punisher, Elektra, and Brother Voodoo. Duggan, who also writes the Conan solo title Savage Sword of Conan, says the team is one of the most deadly teams of Avengers ever.

"Savage Avengers is just what it says on the label - it’s all of the biggest badasses of the Marvel Universe brought together uneasily in one explosive series- and with Conan as a wild card,” SVP/Executive Editor Tom Brevoort added. "It’s big, it’s brash, it’s explosive, it never slows down - the only scenes in Savage Avengers that involve a table is when somebody is being thrown through one.”

Conan was previously announced to be returning to the primary Marvel Universe in upcoming issues of Avengers: No Road Home. The Cimmerian previously appeared in Avengers Forever, and was offered Avengers membership way back in 1984's What If? #43.

“The Marvel heroes have not quite seen the likes of Conan before, but when you turn it around and look at Conan viewing this, he’s very skeptical of a lot of it because he’s so magic-averse,” Duggan explained. “His interpretation of the Venom symbiote, when he first sees it, is that it must be an evil genie. There’s real fun to be had there. At one point Conan believes that Logan hails from somewhere called Pabst, and that’s a well-earned miscommunication. That’s where a lot of fun comes from. Conan is a fish out of water, but everyone will come to respect the skills they’re all bringing to the fight.”

Savage Avengers #1 is due out May 1.

Reminds me of when he was a Secret Avenger and then a Thunderbolt. I'm not a huge fan of Venom on a team, but I'll give it a chance. What are your thoughts on the latest Avengers group?

Thank you to everyone who tweeted me about this! Sorry it took so long for me to get it on the site!

venom espn commercial

ESPN

You may have noticed, other than the first trailer, I haven't been posting any Venom movie clips. That is because I HATE spoilers. I (and I bet some of you) are trying to go into this movie fresh, well as fresh as can be in this day and age. So while I won't be posting, please check out the Reddit forum and our Discord channel if you are interested in seeing them.

I will post spoiler free promotions in other forms, such as this new commercial from ESPN starring Venom:

Hit me up if you know of any other fun promotions like this!

venom movie tie in comic

VENOM

IGN has an exclusive look at the VENOM movie tie in comic:

The new comic, simply called "Venom," is going to be released digitally on Friday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT on Marvel.com. Fans looking for a physical copy will be able to acquire one of these limited edition comics if they purchase their tickets at AMC Theaters for opening weekend.

Written by Sean Ryan and coming from artist Szymon Kudranski, colorist Ian Herring, letterer Joe Sabino, this new Venom comic serves as an official prequel teaser to the movie that sets up what's to come in the feature film. The cover art, above, was done by SKAN.

Marvel has a habit of pulling things full circle with their movie-inspired comics tying back into their comic book films. It's launched a number of limited series or one-shots that tie into its various feature films, including multiple prelude comics and new story arcs.
