  1. Surrounded by 5 of his spawn and his most hated human in the world, the symbiote should defiantly be in control... Venom saving Spider-man is HERECY! TEETH AND CLAWS, TEETH AND CLAWS GOD DAMN IT! Maybe Flash was given something to control the symbiote... which would suck. Lol... silly little soldier Phage and his "bullets." TEETH AND CLAWS!

  6. Carnage USA is so easily kicking that Circle of Four arc so hard, it's laughable.

  7. An Odd Preview.

Surrounded by 5 of his spawn and the human being he hates the most,
Venom should be going ballistic and the symbiote would be doing the
thrashing with Flash trying to gain control.

I read that snippet of the Secret Avengers where McCoy and Pym are lobotomizing' the symbiote.

That is such a horrible idea. 60% of why Venom's Story is so good is
because he is struggling with the symbiote. I know the Symbiote isn't
exactly user friendly to humans but doing something like that seems
    cruel to it.

I've been reading Venom since Day One. Eddie in his Prime would never
let something like that happen. He had an actual relationship with it.
At first the Symbiote kept trying to go back to Peter but eventually it
    bonded with Eddie.

From my view, Flash and the Avengers aren't looking like the 'Good Guys'

  8. I agree 100% BUT Zeb wrote a good Eddie in New Ways to Live, did ya miss that one?

  9.  I did forget that one and did read it.

Overall, it was good.  Some room for improvement, but I did like it.

Dark Origin left such a bad taste in my mouth.  It was the only Venom Series I couldn't read, and I read some pretty bad ones.

  10. What if?:Venom/Deadpool. Nuff said. Might have been the worst piece of literature of all time. (Yet still a better love story than Twilight.)

On a different note, lobotomising the symbiote? Really? They have shown in the past that it can control itself sometimes and (albeit try to) be good. We need to see more of them being mutual in the relationship. (Again, still a better love story than Twilight) I still think that's what we may get considering how they interacted at the close of Carnage #3. Heres hoping!

  11. Funny thing is Venom/Deadpool was written by Remender. It also had a gun wielding hero who obtained the Venom symbiote that had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STORY AT ALL, IT DIDN'T EVEN TALK. We all should have seen this coming... WE SHOULD'VE SEEN IT!(I'm a little crazy just in case you didn't know)

  12. You're also ranting for no reason, since Slott came up with Agent Venom and not Remender. :P

  13. @InnerVenom There's idea, and there's execution.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, you're right. Slott also wrote the .1 issue that introduced  Agent Venom. And it was executed really well. Then Remender did the same with the series, which has also been executed really well! :0

  15. Seriously, its a parasite, not a human life. See, its like how Spider-Man would never think of killing anyone, or letting a human knowingly die? Yet he was always willing to kill the Venom symbiote, no problem, if he could. He even said in ASM 300 how he would've (sonic) blasted the alien to dust if it wasn't for the fact that that would kill Eddie, a human being, in the process.

It only makes sense that, if we gotta have Venom on our team, we don't need Flash losing control and biting Beast's arms off. We're stuck with this monster, we're gonna try and tame it.

You say Eddie in his prime would NEVER sink to that level when he was Venom back in the day. The reason for that is that back then, the symbiote was NEEEEVV-AH portrayed as a wild, violent, purely evil specimen. Back then, the symbiote acted on instinct, its own and Eddie's. It was a gray-area situation. Not really evil, but potentially harmful, and 93% of the time it was perfectly docile with Eddie. That was back in the day. Now, the symbiote has been written as a cancer-causing villain with or without a host. Its just an evil blob that wants to eat people and make good people do bad things and laugh. Its a whole new persona for the symbiote. It never had this schtick before, so no one would need to think "hey...this goop is crazy...let's do something about it"...though in reality, it was a dangerous (not evil) alien, so yeah, characters did want the symbiote dead/studied/captured/controlled...

  16. Good comparison of the symbiote then vs. now. My theory for the symbiote's change in behavior is because of all the things that've happened to it. It's still sentient, and it wanted to be a true symbiote in the beginning, not just a parasite. But after being shoved in jars (despite Reed knowing it was sentient; thanks, Reed), auctioned off, bonding with people with...questionable...mental states, and being used as living weapon, it being permanently pissed off and ready to chew on people is arguably understandable.

  17.  To kinda of support your hypothesis, I submit my observation that after events in ASM Vol. 2, Issue 22 and the "Tsunami" Venom series, the symbiote went from a well-intentioned creature prone to occasional violent mood-swings to a more aggressive, domineering being seeking to control it's host.  I think people began to believe that the only way to make Venom cool was to make him a bad guy again (a very lazy thought process IMHO).  I would hope that someone gets the idea to either 1) undo the crap the made the symbiote an asshole and/or 2) have it develop an emotional bond with Flash like it did with Eddie so that it and Flash are not always fighting for control.

  18. I still hold to the "shitty writing" hypothesis. We can pick at little details that could/kinda match up, but it's all shitty writing no matter how you look at it.

  19. I agree with bizarnage its because theres so many writers who refuse to acknowledge others work thats one of the main flaws with an endless story theres always going to be flaws and bullshit i just like when occasionally we get a good story like the antivenom mini that was cool

  20. if venom has finally bonded with flash they probobly trust each other enough for venom not to flip out venom never flipped out on eddie when eddie was bonded to the symbiote

    ReplyDelete
  21. Undo the crap that made the symbiote an asshole?

I think we're seeing that in Secret Avengers. I'm sure that's the writers attempt at returning the symbiote back to its better, less hostile, less post 2000s persona.

  22.  I'm not sure that's what their are doing.  Based on Beast's "bio-babble" (I majored in biology in college), I think "synaptic coupling" implies that Pym has managed to limit the symbiote's ability to control Flash, but he has not changed the creature's personality or nature.  So the symbiote is still an asshole, but it's ability to "whisper in your eye" has been restricted.

  23. I must admit this looks very impressive, but I really hope to see the Venom we know and love overcome Flash's control and throw down with Carnage like the old days.  Also, wanna see Mercury Team do some work in these next 2 issues.  Their comeback after a 15 year absence is a big deal and should be celebrated with some action or some kind of whacked out twist involving their symbiotes.  Perhaps they could recombine as Hybrid and takeover one of the survivors?  That could be fun, haha

    ReplyDelete
  24. Agreed!!!  Lets get some brute force and bloodshed going here!!!

  25. Venom was always in that mode with Eddie.  Eddie constantly harnessed Venom's aggressive tendencies.  He was never suppressed due to the level of their symbiotic relationship, that's also why they always called themselves "We".  Flash is constantly holding back Venom's complete aggression.  They have a working relationship rather than complete symbiosis.  That's why Flash sometimes loses control of the symbiote and it rampages like it does.  Its a "Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde" scenario...

nature.  So the symbiote is still an asshole, but it's ability to

That's a shame. I was really hoping the symbiote would lose some of that unnecessary "evilness". But if whatever the hell they're doing results in Flash having much better control over the alien, I'm fine with that.

  27. I'm just guessing (and I tend to be a pessimist).  True be told, WolfCypher, hope you are right and I'm wrong.  I would like to see the symbiote go back to it's more beneign personality, and see it and Flash start working together as partners like it did with Eddie.

  28. it's slowing happening but... then we start to think this and we see beast and ant man doing things to the symbiote!
